Invitations and Event Materials
This piece was an invitation to an event which marked a milestone for Polsinelli as the outgoing CEO transitioned leadership to the incoming CEO.
The invitation was designed as a five-panel card with an accordion fold. The finished, or folded, size was six inches square. The five main panels are pictured below along with the center panel of the back spread.
message – This moment is a comma in the story of our firm. It is the short pause between a legacy created and the opportunity that still awaits. It is the momentary breath to consider how far we’ve come before the story continues, the page is turned, and we go forward into tomorrow.

The design pictured above was the other invitation option. Although it was not selected for the event, it was well-received by the stakeholders.

I had the privilege of designing the invitational package for Starlight Theatre’s 28th Annual Benefit Gala in 2014, which consisted of five different multi-piece mailings over a nine-month span.
Destination Starlight was the Gala’s theme so I developed this concept using NYC subway scenes and graphics as the visual thread for the campaign. Using NYC subways (specifically) tied in with one of the four pillars of Starlight’s mission which provides an opportunity for young actors to have the Broadway experience.
The invitational package was honored with two “Philly Awards” in the special event campaign category and was well-received by the Starlight audience as memorable with a sprinkle of edginess.

This image shows the materials included in the second mailing, which was the invitation mailing.
The Gala’s invitation was designed with a map fold to further build on the NYC subway visual concept. The outside panels (left) provided plenty of space for key messaging about the Theatre’s four mission pillars. When opened, the inside became a full-sized poster with event information.

The Gala’s final mailer was the event’s ticket delivery mechanism. The trifold card included a small pocket in which the event’s subway-pass-like tickets were inserted.

The final component of supporting materials for the Gala was this 16-page program. The New York subway visuals also very naturally translated into event decorations and environmental screen graphics, etc.
